Scholarship rules, amounts and deadlines change every year — always confirm on the official portal (NSP / state portal) before applying. Money comes only via DBT to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account — never pay any agent.
How scholarships work in Chandigarh
Chandigarh is a Union Territory, so central schemes on NSP do most of the work. The UT Directorate of School Education adds its own small but useful schemes for younger students, especially girls and SC / ST / BC children.
Chandigarh's UT schemes focus on school children, while college students rely mainly on NSP. Because many students in Chandigarh colleges come from Punjab, Haryana and Himachal, the most common mistake is applying under Chandigarh when the student's domicile — and therefore the correct state scheme — is elsewhere.
