How scholarships work in Haryana
Haryana students apply for most state scholarships online, and the Department of Higher Education runs a dedicated scholarship portal for college students. The state also rewards high-scoring SC and BC students through a merit scheme.
Haryana's biggest change in recent years is that most scholarships check your family data from the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) instead of a paper income certificate. If PPP shows a higher income than your real income, the portal can reject you automatically — so verify your PPP income at a CSC or the PPP portal in June–July, before the scholarship window opens.

Haryana scholarship FAQs
Which portal is used for Haryana scholarships?
College scholarships run on harchhatravratti.highereduhry.ac.in, and other services through Saral Haryana. Central schemes use NSP.
Is Parivar Pehchan Patra needed for Haryana scholarships?
Yes, most state schemes now use PPP data to confirm family income and residence.
What is the Ambedkar Medhavi scholarship?
It is a merit scholarship for SC and BC-A students who score high marks in board and graduation exams.
What if my income in PPP is wrong?
Get it corrected through the PPP portal or CSC before applying, because the scholarship uses that income.
Do private college students get Haryana scholarships?
Yes, if the course is approved and the institute is registered on the portal.
How long does Haryana scholarship verification take?
Typically two to four months after the last date: first the institute, then the district welfare officer. Payments often reach students between January and April of the academic year.
