INSPIRE-SHE (Scholarship for Higher Education) is the Department of Science and Technology's scholarship for top students studying natural and basic sciences — physics, chemistry, maths, biology, statistics, geology, astrophysics and so on — at BSc, BS or integrated MSc level. It pays ₹80,000 a year: ₹60,000 as scholarship and ₹20,000 for a summer research project with a mentor.
You qualify if you were in the top 1% of your Class 12 board, or ranked in the top 10,000 in JEE Advanced or NEET, or are an alumni of programmes like KVPY or the Olympiads, and you are aged 17 to 22. Applications are on the online-inspire.gov.in portal.
