Scholarship rules, amounts and deadlines change every year — always confirm on the official portal (NSP / state portal) before applying. Money comes only via DBT to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account — never pay any agent.
How scholarships work in Telangana
Telangana uses the ePASS portal for both Reimbursement of Tuition Fee (RTF) and Maintenance Fee (MTF), and offers one of the largest overseas scholarships for reserved-category students.
Telangana ePASS links scholarships to attendance: colleges upload biometric attendance and students who fall below the required level can lose that period's maintenance fee. If you change college or course, update the details on ePASS, otherwise the RTF for the new college can be held up.
Telangana's own schemes
Reimbursement of Tuition Fee (RTF)
Who: SC, ST, BC, EBC and minority students within income limits
Benefit: Tuition fee paid to the college
Maintenance Fee (MTF)
Who: Same students in post-matric courses
Benefit: Monthly maintenance amount
Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi
Who: SC / ST students going abroad for higher studies
Benefit: Up to ₹20 lakh
Application calendar
- August – December: ePASS applications
- After admission: College verification
- Through the year: Payments
Avoid these rejections
- Biometric attendance is linked to ePASS — low attendance can stop the payment.
- Income certificate must be from MeeSeva.
- Overseas scholarship has a separate window and selection.
