Bhopal Karond Mandi — Wheat, Soybean & Vegetables Selling Guide (MP)
Karond is Bhopal's main mandi, and it trades for a capital city as much as for the district: wheat and soybean in bulk, vegetables daily, and a steady flow of produce from the surrounding Vidisha and Raisen belts. The city's retailers and hotel suppliers set the pace on vegetables, while the bulk crops follow the state's procurement and e-Mandi rates.

MSP CalculatorThe mandi committee runs the gate, the electronic weighbridge and the auction, with licensed commission agents handling sales. Wheat for MSP goes through the state's e-Uparjan portal, which allots a procurement centre and date. Daily rates are published on MP's e-Mandi portal, so a farmer can check the yard's rate before loading.
Wheat and soybean in their seasons, with vegetables through the year and a winter peak. Wheat is judged on moisture and grain quality, soybean on moisture and foreign matter, vegetables on freshness and size. Vegetable prices swing with the city's daily demand rather than with the MSP cycle.

Documents you need
- Aadhaar of the seller
- Land record for the plot
- Bank passbook in the seller's own name
- e-Uparjan slip for MSP wheat
- Mandi weighment slip and the bill
Important warnings
- • Vegetables have no MSP and no storage life; a late arrival sells into a thinner market.
- • Mandi fee and commission are separate deductions, and unofficial labour or loading charges are a common complaint — ask for each on the bill.
- • Soybean and wheat are cut on moisture at the weighbridge, and the reading is taken once.
- • For MSP wheat, a loaded trolley without an e-Uparjan slip and centre allotment has no procurement route.
- • Legal commission rate: Mandi fee ~1% plus commission around 1–2% — verify the notified rate at the Mandi Samiti.
How to sell your crop at Bhopal Karond Mandi
- 1
For vegetables, grade and pack at the farm; one size per crate, because mixed crates are priced at the worst item.
- 2
For wheat under MSP, register on the e-Uparjan portal and go to the allotted centre with the slip.
- 3
For open-market wheat or soybean, enter the lot at the gate and get it weighed.
- 4
Attend the auction and note the accepted rate against your lot number.
- 5
Take the bill with mandi fee, commission, hamali and weighing shown separately.
- 6
Keep the slip and bill until the bank credit appears.
Say 60 quintals of wheat at ₹2,600 a quintal — ₹1,56,000 gross. Mandi fee at about 1% is ₹1,560, commission at about 1.5% is ₹2,340, hamali about ₹900, leaving roughly ₹1,51,200, or ₹2,520 a quintal. Moisture above the limit would cut that further, so drying at the farm is the cheapest improvement available.
Local tips
Check the e-Mandi rate for Karond before you load — the yard's own portal is more current than a phone quote. For vegetables, arrive early and sell the best crates first; for wheat, the e-Uparjan slip decides whether you are in the procurement queue at all.
