For Pre Matric Obc beneficiaries: your bank account must be live and Aadhaar-seeded. The word 'Aadhaar-linked' in banking app is not enough - you need 'DBT enabled / NPCI mapped'. Since 2021-22, the pre-matric OBC scholarship has been part of the PM YASASVI umbrella scheme for OBC, EBC and DNT students. It covers Classes 9 and 10 for families earning up to ₹2.5 lakh a year, and the state government implements it.
Because states run it, the amount, the portal and the dates vary. The ad-hoc grant for books and stationery is paid on top of the monthly maintenance in many states.
